Removed Reviews After Written Reimbursement Promise — Still Not Paid
I am reposting this review because my experience with ShipWit became even worse after the original issue.

I booked ShipWit to transport my 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan from St. Louis, Missouri to Parsippany, New Jersey. The signed agreement listed a $500 total estimate, made up of a $230 reservation fee and $270 COD. I paid the reservation fee and planned my move and travel around the expectation that ShipWit would arrange the shipment under terms reasonably close to what they presented.

Shortly before the scheduled pickup, ShipWit informed me that the original rate was not accepted and began presenting much higher COD amounts. One carrier option required an $850 COD, which would have made the total cost $1,080 instead of the $500 estimate I relied on. Another option required a $550 COD, which still would have made the total cost $780. I did not accept or confirm those higher COD amounts because they were materially different from the agreement I signed.

The situation left me without the transportation solution I had planned around. Because ShipWit could not provide a workable shipment under the original pricing and timing, I had to cancel my original travel plans, take my car for a road-trip safety inspection, book a hotel, pay for gas, and drive nearly 1,000 miles myself from St. Louis to New Jersey.

My additional out-of-pocket expenses included:

* Vehicle inspection / road-trip safety service: $293.10
* Hotel: $207.34
* Gas — Terre Haute, Indiana: $25.00
* Gas — Cambridge, Ohio: $40.99
* Gas — Carlisle, Pennsylvania: $32.20

Total additional documented expenses: $598.63

To be fair, ShipWit eventually refunded my $230 reservation fee after I complained. However, that refund did not cover the major inconvenience or the additional expenses caused by having to replace the transportation service myself.

After I posted reviews describing my experience, ShipWit repeatedly contacted me asking me to remove them. They stated that they were losing money and wanted the reviews taken down. I made clear that the reservation-fee refund did not erase what happened, because I had still been forced to drive the car myself and pay for the hotel, gas, and safety inspection.

ShipWit then agreed in writing to reimburse the full $598.63 for the hotel, gas, and vehicle inspection expenses, on the condition that I first remove the reviews. I removed the reviews in good faith after receiving that written confirmation and provided my mailing address for the reimbursement check.

As of July 3rd, I have not received the reimbursement check / the check has not cleared / ShipWit has not completed the reimbursement they promised in writing.

That is why I am reposting this review. In my experience, ShipWit first presented a shipment at one price, then tried to move forward with much higher last-minute COD amounts, failed to provide a workable transport option under the original terms, refunded only the reservation fee after pressure, and then asked me to remove public reviews before sending the additional reimbursement they promised.

I would strongly caution anyone considering ShipWit to be extremely careful. Understand that the original estimate may not reflect the final COD, and do not remove any review or close any complaint until any promised refund or reimbursement is actually received and cleared.

I had a great experience with ShipWit Global Inc. The pickup and delivery were timely, and my car arrived safe and sound. They provided great customer service and ensured everything went smoothly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for reliable auto transport!
